This is my favorite method for adding markers. Continue adding markers as the song plays.Type a name for the marker in the "Name" box.Press the Enter key on your keyboards numeric keypad as you reach a point in the song where you want to create a marker.Play the track or song you want to add markers to.Type a name for the marker in the "Name" box (Example: "Intro" or "Verse 1") in the "New Memory Locations" window.I've drawn a red line around the add markers symbol (+) in the image below. Click the + sign to the right of the word "Markers" in the markers ruler.Example: 6 Verse 1 (6 is the number assigned to the marker) TIP: When you name a marker include the number assigned to the marker. Press the Enter key on your keyboard to save the new marker position.Type a name for the marker in the "Name" box (Example: "intro", "verse 1" or "chorus") in the "New Memory Locations" window.Press the "Enter" key of your keyboards numeric keypad.Left click on the Markers ruler where you want to place a new marker.A check mark becomes visible to the left of the word Marker to indicate the Markers ruler is visible. Hover your mouse over the word Rulers.Left click on View on the Pro Tools menu bar. To indicate where there is something in the session you want to change, edit or review.Markers can help you navigate a Pro Tools session. For example, use a marker to indicate a songs intro, verse, chorus, solos etc. Where specific sections of a song begin/end.You will receive a confirmation that this is now ready to useĬreating Custom Marker via Uploading ImagesĪdding a marker only requires two steps: Uploading marker images (that you already have) and setting properties. Save Marker: Once you're satisfied, click this to save.The small circle with an "x" shows the location of the annotation click and where the marker will be positioned relative to that.Some markers make more sense if they are centered over the click point some markers make more sense if they are placed above (e.g. Set marker position relative to click point: This determines where the annotation marker is placed relative to where you click to place the annotation.(Note: Custom Markers are listed alphabetically in the Marker selector dropdown) Set marker name: This is what displays in the Marker dropdown.Set Propertiesįinally, you will set the custom marker's properties: We recommend switching to Chrome, Edge, or Safari if this is the case, just for the marker creation. Note: On Firefox browsers this step may fail. There will be a wait as the markers are created and saved to your account. When satisfied with all the colors, click the Next button.(Note that clicking outside the modal window closes the entire window and you will have to start over.) When you are satisfied, click outside the color picker on the window itself to close the picker.The icon will change color when you set it. Note that different browsers and operating systems will display this differently, but generally you should be able to set the color in several ways. Click on the color swatch under the icon image.The default colors are a starting point, but you can change the colors are you want. You can also change the icon by selecting another one. You can 1) scroll through the list of icons, or 2) type in what you are looking for to filter the displayed set.Ĭlick on the icon you want and it will display in the blank area at top: (Note that colors will be set in the next step). Select Iconįirst you will select the icon to base the marker on. To do this, select the "Pick an Icon" option in the Create Custom Marker wizard.
